The Texas Crawfish Festival

Crawfish lovers consume about 50,000 pounds of the tasty crustaceans at the Texas 
Crawfish Festival in Old Town Spring. It is the largest such celebration outside Louisiana.

In May, the annual Texas Crawfish Festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors to two weekends of fun, Cajun food and live music. It is the largest crawfish celebration in Texas and will be held in 2001 on May 4-6 and May 11-13.

Each year the large crowds consume between 40,000 and 50,000 pounds of crawfish at venues throughout town and enjoy music and dancing, carnival rides and street vendors, along with noted entertainment and big bands appearing on five separate stages in Preservation Park and throughout town.

This year marks the 16th year of the event, which is the largest of the town’s annual "happenings." So if you like Crawfish, and enjoy Cajun, Zydeco, Bluegrass and Country music, come on out in May. You won’t be disappointed.
